What we store

Hideout saves your first name and your results in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device. There are no accounts and nothing is sent to our servers.

What's in a Hideout link

When you hide, the link holds the island number, the first name you typed and your hiding spot (scrambled). Anyone you send it to, and anyone they forward it to, can see that name. Use a nickname if you prefer. Islands are made up, so no real location is ever involved.

Advertising

Hideout may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and puzzles are popular. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level). We only look at aggregated reports and don't use this to identify you. Google's use of this data is covered by How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Children

Hideout is a general-audience game and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Full policy
