Fair Share – the daily group split game

One pot. Everyone takes a share. Too greedy and nobody gets anything.

The daily group game

How much will you take?

Each day your group gets a pot of coins. Everyone secretly claims a share. If the claims fit in the pot, everyone gets paid. If they go over, nobody gets a thing.

How it works

  1. 1

Start a group and post the link in your group chat. 3 to 30 people.

  2. 2

Claim in secret. Nobody sees anyone's claim, only who has claimed.

  3. 3

Reveal at 9 pm, or as soon as everyone is in. Fit the pot and everyone's paid. Go over and it's zero for all.

  4. 4

New pot, new twist every day. A weekly table shows who's rich and who keeps breaking it.

Questions

Are the coins real money?

No. Coins are points for bragging rights only. Nothing is bought or won.

What's the best strategy?

If everyone takes an equal share, everyone does fine. But someone always gets greedy. That's the game.

What are the daily twists?

Some days the pot is bigger or smaller. Some days the smallest claim gets a bonus, the leftover is shared, or the single greediest claim gets thrown out instead of breaking the split for everyone.

What do you store?

The group name, members' first names and their claims, kept for up to 45 days after the group was last opened. No phone numbers, emails or accounts.

How to play Fair Share

Every day your group gets a pot of coins. Each person secretly claims some.

At 9 pm (or once everyone has claimed) the claims are revealed. If they add up to the pot or less, everyone gets what they claimed. If they go over, nobody gets anything.

Each day brings a twist, like a bigger pot or a bonus for the smallest claim. Coins are points, not money.
