Splitword is a free daily word puzzle. Four words that share a theme are cut into pieces and shuffled. Put the pieces back together to rebuild every word.
The rules
Read the theme. Each daily puzzle has a theme, like Cricket or Indian food, and four words that fit it.
Look at the pieces. Each word has been cut into three pieces, and all twelve pieces are shuffled together.
Tap three pieces in order. If they spell one of the four words, it locks in with its own colour.
Rebuild all four. A wrong word counts as a mistake and the pieces go back. Finish with as few mistakes as you can.
An example
Theme: Diwali night. These are the twelve pieces:
ESLILERDLRNRANCANRKSPAGOTELAN
Tap RAN, then GO, then LI, and you've rebuilt the first word:
"Two pieces are right": if a wrong word has two of its three pieces in the right places for one of the answers, the game tells you you're close.
Hint: lights up the first piece of a word you haven't found yet.
Shuffle: rearranges the pieces. A new layout often makes a word jump out.
No limit on mistakes: you can always finish. Mistakes and hints show in your result.
Daily puzzle and practice
The daily puzzle has a theme and is the same for everyone on the same date, so you can compare results. It changes at midnight your time. Practice mixes four random words from older puzzles with no theme, which makes it a little harder.
Sharing your result
Your result shows the order you found the words in, one coloured square each (🟩 🩷 🟧 🟦), and your mistakes and hints. It never shows the words, so it won't spoil the puzzle for friends.
Questions
Is Splitword like Wordle?
It's a daily word game you can share, like Wordle, but instead of guessing letters you rebuild four themed words from their pieces.
Can two pieces be the same?
Yes. Short pieces like ER sometimes appear twice. They're interchangeable, so either one works.
