How to play Trail

  1. 1

Start on GO. Put your finger on the green circle in the top corner.

  2. 2

Slide to the flag. Move through squares that touch side by side, never the same square twice. The numbers you pass are added up.

  3. 3

Land on exactly the target. Too much or too little and you have to find another way. Slide back over your path to undo. Get it on your first try for a green bar.

Tip: the shortest way is never right on medium and hard boards. Look for a small loop that picks up just the numbers you are missing. Red numbers take away.

Questions

When do new puzzles come out?

Three new puzzles (easy, medium and hard) every day at midnight your time. Everyone gets the same three, so you can compare with friends.

Is there always a path?

Yes. Every board is made from a real path, and its total is the target. There may be more than one path that works.

What are the red numbers?

Minus tiles, on hard boards. They take away from your total, so a longer path can end up smaller.

What age is it for?

From about 8. Easy boards are simple adding. Hard boards are a proper puzzle for adults.

How do levels work?

There are 300 levels, from a 4×4 board to 6×6 boards with minus tiles and long winding answers.

How to play Trail

Start on GO and slide through neighbouring squares to the flag. The numbers you pass add up; land on the flag with exactly the target. Slide back to undo.

Show answer solves it for you, but that puzzle then counts as missed.
