How to play Tint

  1. 1

Look at the target. The left swatch is the colour to make. The right one is your mix.

  2. 2

Add drops. Tap a paint pot to add one drop. Mixing works like real paint: yellow and blue make green, a little white makes it lighter, and black is strong.

  3. 3

Lock it in. When your mix looks the same, press Lock it in. 97% or more is a green bar, 85% or more is a yellow one.

Tip: only the proportions matter. Two red and two yellow is the same orange as one red and one yellow, so find the rough colour first, then add single drops to tune it.

Questions

When do new puzzles come out?

Three new puzzles (easy, medium and hard) every day at midnight your time. Everyone gets the same three, so you can compare with friends.

How is the score worked out?

We compare your mix with the target the way the eye sees colour (a colour difference called Delta E). 100% means the same colour. A one-drop difference is usually somewhere around 85 to 95%.

Can I always get 100%?

Yes. Every target is made from a real recipe of at most nine drops of the pots you are given, and the recipe is shown after you lock in.

Why does my screen matter?

Colours look slightly different on every screen, but the target and your mix are on the same screen, so the comparison is fair.

How do levels work?

There are 300 levels. Early ones use two paints, later ones need three or four, with black and white to get the shade right.

How to play Tint

Tap the paint pots to add drops until your mix matches the target, then press Lock it in. Undo takes back the last drop.

Show answer solves it for you, but that puzzle then counts as missed.
